Eintracht Frankfurt vs Arsenal: Europa League preview

Frankfurt vs Arsenal
Europa League Group F
5:55pm Thursday September

Eintracht Frankfurt head trainer Adi Hutter insists his side cannot read too much into the second-half capitulation at Watford of Arsenal on Sunday.
The Gunners were held after blowing off a lead as they surrendered 31 shots.
They travel to Germany to confront Eintracht because the two sides meet in their Europa League Group F struggle in the Commerzbank Arena.
Eintracht, that lost on penalties to Chelsea before the Blues proceeded to beat Arsenal in the last, will be eager to show they could compete despite a summer of change.
Attacking trio Luka Jovic, Sebastien Haller and Ante Rebic accounted for 56 of those 90 goals scored by the club last season but all were marketed during the summer.
But Hutter thinks his side can continue to build where they left off, even though he does not expect Arsenal to be as poor as they were in the weekend.
“I watched the match against Watford,” he said. “They have been fortunate to haven’t lost following a 2-0 lead. But I wouldn’t tie everything. They attempt to play soccer from the trunk.
“Their doctrine is obviously recognisable and I assume that they will perform so.
“On the flip side, we are in need of a clear plan and we have the answers and the resources.”
Hutter surrendered that expectancy has grown following an abrupt jog of those Europa League into the last four but considers everyone at the club stays grounded.
“Certainly the expectations have improved,” he added.
“The past season was outstanding with the semi-final and a total of 14 games. We remain modest and want to get so far as you can, although the bar is large.
“Because of our achievements and the fact that we nearly reached the final we are perceived otherwise.”
Eintracht are without Mijat Gacinovic, that sustained an injury in training last week, even although Swansea City player Jonathan de Guzman overlooks because of a problem.
Whereas Goncalo Paciencia and Sebastian Rode are both doubts after an Achilles tendon ruptured marco Russ is ruled out.
Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns as they bid to return to winning ways.
Alexandre Lacazette is with the Frenchman after picking up a knee injury before the international break ruled out.
Dinos Mavropanos, Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney are back in training with all the first-team squad but are still not ready to return to the matchday squad of Unai Emery.
This will be the first meeting between Arsenal along with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Eintracht few meetings with Language competitions have finished level, with the side drawing 1-1 with Chelsea in both legs of past season’s Europa League semi-final, before being eliminated on penalties.
Arsenal have dropped their last four away European games from opponents, conceding 13 and scoring two.
In Europa League combined along with Champions League, Arsenal haven’t been removed at the group stage because the 1999-00 Champions League.
Including qualifiers, Eintracht Frankfurt are unbeaten in their last 16 home games from European competition (W12 D4), as a 1-2 defeat against Palermo in the 2006-07 UEFA Cup.
God only knows what defence Unai Emery can pick. I really don’t know we will have to state it. They are extremely great going forward, as would be the youngsters. The equilibrium from midfield to front isn’t bad but it’s scary how bad Arsenal are.
What’s the attraction to Sokratis Papastathopoulos? Kieran Tierney on Thursday and I would play and see whether Hector Bellerin could begin also. Regarding Sunday’s match against Watford, if you see David Luiz giving directions to go, you know you are in trouble.
Konstantinos Mavropanos is still game time off from being healthy. It would be the conclusion if Shkodran Mustafi was brought backagain. We will need to get Bellerin, Rob Holding and then Tierney back to the side when possible. I would take a hit and play these players to provide them game time and allow them to get fit fitness.
Nicolas Pepe was horrible contrary to Watford. Emery shot Dani Ceballos along with Mesut Ozil off was beyond me. It is beginning to influence a number of the other players that are young and Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Reiss Nelson and couldn’t retain the ball and Joe Willock came on.
It’s the responsibility of the manager. He must resolve this and develop a conclusion about the best way to sort this out. Tierney, Bellerin, and Holding should play with – I’d play with them and have a defeat if it meant they have the match time they desired.
